Had some very pleasant family diversions over Easter that impacted gaming somewhat, as indeed did the cold, but still managed to do a fair bit — just not all that I had hoped. The fact gaming whilst having a cold meant I was not always in the best frame of mind has meant at times some great frustrations. World of Tanks I will be very glad when I have completed the April missions. I have just 10 qualifying victories to go with light tanks and SPGs, and about eight to go with mediums, heavies, and TDs. I am aiming to complete them this weekend. I would have said tomorrow, but this evening has mostly been taken up with problems associated with my Sky box. Both lights and SPGs suffer from the reality they are rarely able to exert as much influence on the battlefield as the other three classes — SPGs because they are too random, and lights because they are too fragile. Part of this comes no doubt from my own general inexperience at both classes, but also because I think Tier IV scout tanks must be one of the least influential tanks in the game.

Although it needs to be nerfed this is just too much, here is my opinion of how it should be changed. With the health nerf this takes out most ability to dogfight with other tanks one of my favorite things to do. Before the nerf it was still second from last in this respect, this tank’s DPM does not need to change at all. I do agree with the pen nerf, with the new mm we don’t have to shoot IS-3’s or O-Ho’s so the old pen standard and the crazy pen prem is not necessary.

Vehicle Tier Vehicle tier is not taken into consideration when balancing teams. This is a common misconception among players. For example, under the current rules a tier 8 medium can be matched against a tier 7 heavy tank. The only relevance of vehicle tier is to determine the battle tier. However, the top tanks of each team have the same vehicle tier due to the current balancing rules.
The vehicle tier should be taken into consideration as it reflects a preordained operating range of a vehicle also known as classification. The range of each tier gradually increases with technology and tiers can overlap. If you are in a platoon, the entire platoon is placed into battles according to the platoon member in the vehicle with the highest battle tier.
This can produce unwanted results in particular for new players at the lower tiers. For example, a tier 4 scout can enter battles up to tier 7, whereas a tier 4 medium tank on its own can only join battles up to tier 6. If these platoon together, the scout will pull the other tank up into its battle tier, where the other tank will usually be hopelessly outclassed.

UK Light tank role seems to be changing since they are all getting view range slashed and require some decent crew skills and equipment to max out unless you hate yourself and going for binoculars. Then again you can argue it was never their biggest strength at T8 anyway since lot of other tanks maxed out the m limit. That and not sure how much stealth counts for either nowadays with maps, so really they are just becoming very mobile light mediums that have to get close as they are all working with pretty poor accuracy.
Not sure how I’ll feel about artillery yet, on one hand your chances of having a huge chunk taking out of your are reduced now, but on the other the splash radius is vastly increased so we can all definitely expect to be using more consumables in the future. Does also bring the meta back a bit more towards big heavy things again since they don’t have to worry about artillery as much.
We already have ridiculously buffed heavies in Maus and Type 5 and silly things like that T8 VK something that some same tier tanks can’t pen without using gold. Won’t quite bring the days of domination of before but certainly make it a better proposition to play heavier stuff again.
